Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Uinta Mountains. A magnificent nearby hotel is Best Western Inn. For the period of the months of summer at Hidden Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, typically in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Hidden Lake plunge into the 0's. All year is a tremendous time in the

| | Uinta Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. Hidden Lake is right by the Icy Hill Dugway. Lakes? Sure, Lost Lake is close at hand.
Round Park is a wonderful location any time of year; Lily Pad Lake is a tremendous lake close by. This lake is one of the great places here in the Uinta Mountains. Yep, outdoors enjoyable things to do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Hidden Lake. The Shale Dugway offers hiking at its best. There's so much to do here | |

at Hidden Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hoop Lake Campground is a great site for that.
This lake is so wonderful. There's good hiking along the Dry Fork Trail, and paddling on Uinta River is so much fun. Very brilliant
water scenery is available at Tamarack Lake Dam close to Hidden Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Hidden Lake has to offer, you can camp at Spirit Lake Campground. Hidden Lake gets very little rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest.

 | Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |
Little Elk Lake
| That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that.... |
