The Slope Trail offers hiking at its best, and close by you find perfect places like Hades Pass. This lake is so wonderful. Not much rain falls here at Heart Lake; all through February this area sees the most snow; the driest month is June.

Altamont Motel is a great site to get some rest. This lake is located in the wonderful Uinta Mountains. Man, is there loads of amusing stuff to do in the Uinta Mountains. There's magnificent hiking along the East Fork Pinto Lake Trail,
and fine hiking is available along the Skinner Cutoff Trail.
At Heart Lake all through the warm months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Heart Lake overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
