Hacking Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Brown Lake Campground is a great local campground, and if you get bored of Hacking Lake you could also take a look at close by Red Lake. That right there is plenty already, but it goes on; Hacking Lake has it all. So many cool things to do here in the Uinta Mountains, too good to be true. Here at Hacking Lake there are plenty of people from Vernal; there are       fine places to discover along the Uinta Highline Trail. The summit of Leidy Peak can be spotted from Hacking Lake, and going for a hike on the Dry Fork Trail is always a good adventure. Summer at Hacking Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Hacking Lake dip into the                  10's. The Uinta Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. A fine location to camp here at Hacking Lake is Deep Creek Campground; there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the Icy Hill Dugway.
