What a nice lake Gunlock Reservoir is. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of people from St. George come to Gunlock Reservoir. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Gunlock Reservoir; if you came for an overnight stay Snow Canyon State Park is a magnificent place to camp. Camping is available at Gunlock Campground; after a long day outdoors RED MOUNTAIN RESORT AND SPA is a splendid location to spend a night or two.

| | On a glorious day at Gunlock Reservoir you can take a hike along the Shinbone Trail; dry warm beds await you at Green Valley Resort Vacation Rentals. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things at Gunlock Reservoir. Reservoir which is a picturesque lake; if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Red Hardscrabble Trail. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Gunlock Reservoir. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. Highs
through the wintertime are typically in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Gunlock Reservoir. A wonderful location for whitewater paddling close to Gunlock Reservoir is Virgin River, and Manganese Wash is another great place
to stop by close by. Gunlock Reservoir is a location that is relatively dry frequently; July is the wettest month with most rain; June meanwhile is the driest month.

 | As of May 2009, water level is high. Water is very clean with minimal pollution. Visitor numbers are rising!...As of June, 2007, the water level has dropped significantly due to irrigation, evaporation, and insufficient rainfall....... Voices really carry over the water there, so if you don't want conversations broadcasted, be sure to keep your voice low even when trekking in the heavy brush. On the western side, there is a rudimentary launching dock where you can strap on a life jacket and paddle out onto the lake, if you wish to bring a non-motorized water vessel. Also, there is a pier to cast a fishing line when the water is stocked with Bass. There's a saying in southern Utah that if you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes and it'll change. At Ivins Reservoir, the summer sun rises over the water with blinding intensity and sets with tranquility in the east. One moment you're looking up a clear blue sky, the next, you're staring at cloud formations. The sun and clouds often work in dramatic concert, casting shadows on nearby cliffs. On rare days a Winter snow may powder these auburn-colored cliffs for a fleeting day or two. An important note: Ivins Reservoir is not state-sponsored. Restrooms and trash cans aren't available.
