The beauty of Gull Lake is reason enough to stop by. All year is a magnificent time in the Uinta Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. The Icy Hill Dugway offers hiking at its best, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites VERNAL ? DINOSAURLAND is a good place to spend a night or two. This lake is one of the great places here in the Uinta Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something close to Gull Lake? Burton

| | Reservoir is in the neighborhood, and Gull Lake is right by the Uinta Highline Trail. Be careful coming to Gull Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. You get a fine sight of Lake Mountain from Gull Lake; a journey to Bear Seep will fill your soul with wonderful feelings. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Gull Lake; Dry Fork Trail is a splendid local trail, and taking a little visit to close by Jay Point is a great idea. Not much rain falls | |

here at Gull Lake; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month is February. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Gull Lake highs are regularly in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures
through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows all through the wintertime for Gull Lake tend to be in the 0's. North Fork Dry Fork is near Gull Lake and is always a bliss to stop at; the good people of Vernal
like to hang out close by. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Uinta Mountains. There's so much to do here at Gull Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Whiterocks Campground is a delightful location for
that, and SUPER 8 MOTEL - VERNAL is a good place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. You could also explore Chokecherry Flat Reservoir while you're here at Gull Lake; it's nearby; you can stay the night at Paradise Campground.

Little Elk Lake
 | 10 miles away That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that.... |
Chepeta Lake
 | 17 miles away Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |
