Grass Valley Reservoir gets very little rain; throughout July this area sees the most rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can take a look at Grass Valley Dam; there are plenty of people from St. George here. You'll find a delightful lake called Pine Valley Reservoir near Grass Valley Reservoir, and if you came for  
   an overnight stay Pine Valley Group Areas - Dixie National Forest is a magnificent place to camp.
The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Grass Valley Reservoir, and the night is a bit cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's. Take a hike on the Gardner Peak Trail; why not camp at Pine Valley Equestrian Camp - Dixie National Forest since you're here at Grass Valley Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Do take a look at First Water next to Grass Valley Reservoir, it's a gorgeous lake. All the outdoors cool stuff close to Grass Valley Reservoir will keep you coming back persistently. Forsyth Creek is a scenic stream that is worth a visit, and you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Point Trail.

As of May 2009, water level is high.  Water is very clean with minimal pollution.  Visitor numbers are rising!...As of June, 2007, the water level has dropped significantly due to irrigation, evaporation, and insufficient rainfall.......ins Reservoir is framed by a magnificent backdrop of red sandstone cliffs that reflect on the water. Bordered on the north by the Shivwitz reservation, a sign designates Paiute property.
Desert home for an harmonious winged assortment of ducks, Coots, Mallards, and a lone Blue Heron, once, we even saw seen a gaggle of Seagulls that had flown in by way of the gulf stream. That was an amazing sight, for Ivins is several hundred miles from the Pacific or Salt Lake City.
Some Kayenta retirees, whom I've met on early morning strolls, have kindly shared their friendship and some interesting birding tidbits.
Situated on the northeast fringe of the Mojave Desert, during hot summer months you can trek amid cool vegetation and tall trees at the lake's east perimeter. In this area you may find an interesting array of birds perched on branches overhead. Voices really carry over the water there, so if you don't want conversations broadcasted, be sure to keep your voice low even when trekking in the heavy brush.
