    Gem Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. This lake is so wonderful. There's some exciting stuff to see at Five Point Lake Dam near Gem Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Red Castle Lake. Gem Lake is a location that is rather dehydrated regularly; the month with most of the rain is September, and the driest month is January. Gem Lake is located in the Uinta Mountains.
That right there is
 
   a load of fun things already but it goes on, the Uinta Mountains has it all. Go for a hike on the High Line Trail, and soar down the rapids of Yellowstone River in a kayak. Be careful coming to the Uinta Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. If you came for an overnight stay Swift Creek Campground is a brilliant location to camp, and going for a hike on the Fish Creek National Recreation Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Summer at Gem Lake comes  
               with high temperatures in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; night lows throughout the winter for Gem Lake tend to be in the 0's.
Having a tremendous time at Gem Lake is trouble-free. Good hiking is available along the Bear River Smiths Fork Trail, and get wet paddling on Lake Fork. Camping is available at Beaver Dam Campground, and not far from Gem Lake you'll discover Toquer Lake which is a stunning lake. This lake is so wonderful.
Garfield Basin is a great spot to check out, and there are plenty of people from Evanston here.
