  Not far from Gatman Lake, you'll hit upon Thompson Lake which is a gorgeous lake. A pleasant visit to Naturalist Basin is a good way to spend an afternoon. Butterfly Campground is a nice local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Mount Agassiz can be seen from Gatman Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Highline Trail Head Campground is a good site to camp. Duchesne River has a category I-III stretch of whitewater nearby. The 32.5-mile-in-distance Hades
    Campground to Rock Creek section is great to paddle. The Hades Campground to Rock Creek section of Duchesne River is fitting for raft paddlers who have been whitewater paddling for a while but who are not yet set for the genuinely dangerous rapids.
