There's so much to do here at Further Water that you need to camp here for a while, Oak Grove Campground is a delightful location for that, and brilliant hiking is available along the Point Trail. | | Water. A pleasant journey to Deer Flat is a nice way to spend an afternoon, and you're sure to run into some smiling people from St. George here. Not much rainfall falls here at Further Water; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around here, and June is when it's the driest. If you came to camp Upper Pines Campground is a good location to do that; don't leave Further Water without first going for a hike along the Oak Grove Trail. This | |

at Further Water get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are commonly in the 40's while Further Water nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in
the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Burger Peak can be seen from Further Water, and not far from Further Water you'll hit upon Grass Valley Reservoir which is a scenic lake. Virgin River is a glorious whitewater spot close to Further Water, and there's brilliant hiking along the Browns Point Trail.

Ivins Reservoir
 | 17 miles away As of May 2009, water level is high. Water is very clean with minimal pollution. Visitor numbers are rising!...As of June, 2007, the water level has dropped significantly due to irrigation, evaporation, and insufficient rainfall.......s really carry over the water there, so if you don't want conversations broadcasted, be sure to keep your voice low even when trekking in the heavy brush. On the western side, there is a rudimentary launching dock where you can strap on a life jacket and paddle out onto the lake, if you wish to bring a non-motorized water vessel. Also, there is a pier to cast a fishing line when the water is stocked with Bass. There's a saying in southern Utah that if you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes and it'll change. At Ivins Reservoir, the summer sun rises over the water with blinding intensity and sets with tranquility in the east. One moment you're looking up a clear blue sky, the next, you're staring at cloud formations. The sun and clouds often work in dramatic concert, casting shadows on nearby cliffs. On rare days a Winter snow may powder these auburn-colored cliffs for a fleeting day or two. An important note: Ivins Reservoir is not state-sponsored. Restrooms and trash cans aren't available.
