Hiking is a popular thing to do around Fourth Chain Lake; Shale Dugway is a magnificent local trail. That right there is a load of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Uinta Mountains has it all. While you're here at Fourth Chain Lake, you could also pop by lovely Upper Chain Lake; Fourth Chain Lake is right by the High Line Trail. Summertime highs at Fourth Chain Lake usually tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in       temperatures dip down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Fourth Chain Lake temperatures fall to the 0's. There's so much to do here at Fourth Chain Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Swift Creek Campground is a brilliant location for that. The Uinta Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Uinta River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby, and the Fish Creek National Recreation Trail offers hiking at its best.
