    Flat Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. If you yearn for a little side journey, try The Gap, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Black Burn Trail. Not much rain falls here at Flat Lake; during August this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is January. Lakes are fine; Yellow Lake is a lake that's near Flat Lake. You'll need more  
   than a day to explore everything Flat Lake has to offer, you can camp at Escalante State Park.
You're perhaps into lakes, Blue Lake is one of those nearby. You can take a little journey to Lower Barker Dam while you're here at Flat Lake; a pleasant spree to Dougherty Basin is a fine way to spend an afternoon. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Flat Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Barker Reservoir Campground is a delightful
 
               site for that, and Gates Spring is a pretty place to explore while you're at Flat Lake.
All through the summer months at Flat Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Flat Lake descend into the 10's. Do pay a visit to Bryce Canyon National Park while you're here at Flat Lake, and if you're hooked on cool geologic characteristics try Holbys Bottom.
