If you are in Uintah county it's always a good idea to stop by Deadman Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's magnificent hiking along the Uinta Highline Trail, and Lightning Park is a good place to check out. These mountains rock, just check out all the entertaining stuff to do in the Uinta Mountains. While you're here at Deadman Lake, you could also go to pretty Blue Lake, and glide down the rapids of Uinta River in a kayak. Deadman Lake is a beautiful

| | lake in the Uinta Mountains. Deadman Lake is pretty dehydrated typically; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the area in close proximity to Deadman Lake has to offer. do here at Deadman Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Paradise Campground is a magnificent location for that, and Deadman Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Spirit Lake Campground is a great local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Inn, and you can go for a hike on the Dry Fork Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Deadman Lake. During the moonlight hours it's typically
in the 50's. During the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Deadman Lake. There's some flowing water close by, Reynolds Creek is a stream you can go to while you're here; you could always look at Gabbro Pass.

 | That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that.... |
Chepeta Lake
 | Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |
