Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Uinta Mountains. Don't leave Davis Lakes without first going for a hike along the Shale Dugway, and a lake close by is Kidney Lakes. There's splendid hiking along the High Line Trail; whitewater paddling is fine on Yellowstone River. Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Davis Lakes. Why not camp at Henrys Fork Campground while you're here at Davis Lakes.

| | During the summertime at Davis Lakes highs are regularly in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's, and night lows all through the wintertime for Davis Lakes tend to be in the 0's. people from Evanston come here. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Uinta River is so much fun, and Davis Lakes is not the only place close by, Weeping Ledge Lake is a close by lake. Davis Lakes is located in the Uinta Mountains.

 | 14 miles away Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |
