If you are in this part of Utah make sure to pay a visit to Castle Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of the Uinta Mountains. Don't leave Castle Lake without first going for a hike along the Smith Morehouse Trail. There's so much to do here at Castle Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Beaver Creek Campground is a great place for that. There are fine places to explore along the Littles Fork Trail, and after a long day outdoors Daniels
Summit Lodge is a pleasant site to spend a night or two.
For the period of the summertime, highs regularly are in the 80's at Castle Lake with night lows in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Castle Lake during the wintertime generally plunge into the 10's. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Castle Lake has to offer, you can camp at Taylors Fork Campground; unsurprisingly,

this is a great neighborhood for people who like lakes, Lower Yellow Pine Lake is a lake in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Nobletts Creek Trail is always a splendid adventure, and get your pulse rate up on the perfect whitewater of Chalk Creek.
Castle Lake gets very little precipitation; April is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is July. Castle Lake is a beautiful lake in the Uinta Mountains. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Castle Lake. Here at Castle Lake you can spot Castle Peak, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Provo River.
And if that's not enough there's plenty more exciting stuff to do in the Uinta Mountains. A good nearby hotel is Lodge at Stillwater. Lakes are good; Upper Yellow Pine Lake is a lake that's near Castle Lake.

Great ride from above Woodland to the 1000 E. bridge (which is a good scare during high water, 1500 cfs). After the bridge the log jams, second diversion dam and constant river splits can be fun in the right craft (13 ft raft, not recommended). Great rush!...
Yeah...this river especially the lower part...really rocks....
