If you are traveling by, why not stop by Butterfly Lake. So many exciting things to do in the Uinta Mountains, not enough time. Stay the night at Highline Trail Head Campground; in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rock Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Butterfly Lake is a beautiful lake in the Uinta Mountains. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Uinta Mountains. You'll find a wonderful lake called Bud Lake near Butterfly Lake. Butterfly Lake is a location that is reasonably dried out frequently; during the month of February you get the most snow around here, and June on the other hand is the driest. Summer brings highs
in the 80's to Butterfly Lake with nighttime lows in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter for Butterfly Lake tend to be in the 10's. There are nice locations to explore along the Highline Trail; at Butterfly Lake you can distinguish Hayden Peak.
