     Barker Reservoir Campground is a good local campground, and The Buttes is clearly visible from Butte Reservoir. Why not camp at Escalante State Park if you're here at Butte Reservoir, and a beautiful lake like Nicks Pond is a magnificent site to take a look at. For the period of the warmest time of the year here at Butte Reservoir, high temperatures frequently reach the 80's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally  
   in the 40's while Butte Reservoir overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's. A good site to take a look at in the neighborhood of Butte Reservoir is Forshea Draw, and close by you hit upon the Aquarius Trail which is a glorious hiking trail.
If you need a site to stay Wonderland Inn is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful. On a great day at Butte Reservoir you can take a hike along the Black Burn Trail; lakes are such
 
               calm places, why not take a look at Death Hollow Reservoir. Around Butte Reservoir you don’t get a lot of precipitation; throughout the month of September you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January.
And if that's not sufficient, there's plenty more to do close to Butte Reservoir. Don’t forget to go to Awapa Plateau if you're here at Butte Reservoir; there is a good hiking trail close by called the Pollywog Lake Trail.
