It is very waterless here at Brook Lake typically; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Brook Lake during the summer months are in the 80's while night lows are regularly in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's while Brook Lake night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's. If only every spot had this much

Dry Fork Trail, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Yellowstone River. These mountains rock, just look at all the amusing things to do in the Uinta Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop
at close by Crescent Lake. There are great sites to look at along the Shale Dugway, and if you came for an overnight stay Hoop Lake Campground is a splendid spot to camp. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on
up to the Uinta Mountains. Fox Queant Pass is a pleasant location to go to next to Brook Lake; after a long day outdoors Best Western Inn is a great place to spend a night or two.

 | Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |
Little Elk Lake
 | 14 miles away That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that.... |
