     Blue Lake is a magnificent site to visit for more than one day, Smith and Morehouse Campground is a magnificent site to camp nearby, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Notch Mountain Trail. A lake close by is Boyer Lake, and on a gorgeous day you get a great vista of Humpy Peak from Blue Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Moffit Basin is a great spot here at Blue Lake; the Lofty Lake Trail is a great hiking trail close by. You'll wish for more  
   hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Blue Lake. Blue Lake is not the only place nearby, Joyce Lake is a nearby lake, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Smith Morehouse Trail.
It is very dry here at Blue Lake commonly; April is the month that gets the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Blue Lake has to offer, you can camp at Camperworld Knotty Pine. Howard
 
               Johnson Inn Evanston WY is a great spot to get some rest, and not far from Blue Lake you acquire some perfect water scenery at Boyer Lake Dam.
Summer at Blue Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Blue Lake.

Highline Trail

The U.S. Forrest Service last attention to this trail was in 1994/1995 and the trail markings in many places is all but non-existent.  Portions of the trail---particularly in the meadows areas have been overgrown and rock cairn markers, where they do exist, are often overgrown and difficult to find.  Do not attempt this trail without detailed terrain maps and GPS equipment and the ability to use both.   It would also be a good idea to carry a satellite phone (rentals are available) as there is no cell phone signal anywhere along the route from the Mirror Lake trailhead on the West all the way to the Chepeta lake trailhead  on the East...
