This lake is located in the wonderful Uinta Mountains. There's so much to do here at Bills Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Uinta Canyon Campground is a great site for that, and there are glorious spots to explore along the Shale Dugway. Bills Lake is pretty arid commonly; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February.
So much exciting stuff to do in the Uinta Mountains, not sufficient time. Whitewater

| | paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Uinta River, and a striking lake like Pot Holes is a perfect spot to explore. Go for a hike on the Dry Fork Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Bills Lake has to offer, you can camp at Wandin Campground. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Bills Lake. If you need a spot to stay Best Western Inn is a wonderful choice.

the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Bills Lake, and the nighttime is slightly cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's while Bills Lake overnight
low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the glorious whitewater of Yellowstone River; Wall Lake is a brilliant lake close by.

Chepeta Lake
| Chepeta is a very hit or miss lake. Fishing can be absolutely dead one day and sweet the next. The water was crazy low two summers ago and there may not even be a lot of fish left unless they've planted it since. Worth the trip though -- if one lake is cold another will be hot.... |

That's a pretty tough road to get there. I'd say about 4 miles in, but lots of big rocks. Great views though. We took ATV's up and it was a fairly unremarkable ride. We did see a couple of 4WD Trucks headed up too. Good scenery up top. I'd like to camp there and hang out. We didn't fish. It doesn't look really good for that.... |
