For the duration of the summertime months here at Big Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Big Lake temperatures drop to the 0's. Not much rainfall falls here at Big Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake       is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Pollywog Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Aquarius Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and do have a look at Pleasant Lake, it's a stunning lake. Best Western Capitol Reef Resort is a brilliant location to get some rest, and Big Lake is a perfect site to visit for more than one day, Pleasant Creek Campground is a perfect site to camp nearby. Any time is a wonderful time at Big Lake if you                  go for the outdoors. Beef Meadows is a wonderful location to stretch your legs a bit, and a nice close by hotel is Torrey-Days Inn Capitol Reef N.P.. Fremont River is a tremendous whitewater spot near Big Lake; the summit of Boulder Mountain can be spotted from Big Lake. There is a delightful hiking trail in close proximity to Big Lake called the Indian Trail; you'll come across a lovely lake called Noon Lake.
