Don't leave Big Lake without first going for a hike along the Slope Trail, and whitewater paddling is tremendous on Duchesne River. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Skinner Cutoff Trail; paddling on Currant Creek is so much fun. Not much precipitation falls here at Big Lake; all through February this area sees the most snow; the driest of the months is June. There's no way anybody can get bored here       in the Uinta Mountains. If you need a location to stay Lodge at Stillwater is a tremendous choice. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Big Lake; East Fork Pinto Lake Trail is a great local trail, and Aspen Campground is a nice campground here. Summertime highs at Big Lake typically tend to be in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's with winter                  lows in the 10's overnight here at Big Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Uinta Mountains. But wait, there's more to do next to Big Lake. At Big Lake you can see Tabby Mountain, and Big Lake is a splendid site to camp, Castle Cliffs Campground is a splendid site. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Uinta Mountains, not enough time.
