Big Elk Lake is a beautiful lake in the Uinta Mountains. Lodge at Stillwater is a magnificent location to get some rest, and a good spot like The Deli Dell here at Big Elk Lake is too fine to miss. Don't leave Big Elk Lake without first going for a hike along the Littles Fork Trail, and a great place to camp here at Big Elk Lake is Camperworld Knotty Pine. This lake is so wonderful.       Big Elk Lake is near Big Elk Lake Dam which is a pretty spot certainly worth checking out, and camping is available at Shady Dell Campground. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. There's whitewater on Provo River for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and there are magnificent spots to look at along the Nobletts Creek Trail. At Big Elk Lake through the long summer days highs are in the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 40's.                  The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Big Elk Lake tend to be in the 10's. Not much rainfall falls here at Big Elk Lake; the month with most of the rain is April; July meanwhile is the driest month. That right there is lots of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Uinta Mountains has it all. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Heber City, Ut, and going for a hike on the Smith Morehouse Trail is always a fine adventure. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Uinta Mountains.
