Beautiful Big Dog Lake has much to offer visitors. Big Dog Lake is located in the Uinta Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Uinta Mountains. Have a great hiking adventure along the Fish Creek National Recreation Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Duchesne River offers some great whitewater. offer. Brown Duck Dam is a pretty place right next door to Big Dog Lake. There's so much to do here at Big Dog Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Yellow Pine Campground is a good place for that.
Get yourself into a kayak
and hit Rock Creek. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Big Dog Lake has to offer, you can camp at Miners Gulch Campground. Going for a hike along the Slope Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area,
and Brown Duck Basin is right here at Big Dog Lake. Summertime highs at Big Dog Lake typically tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Big Dog Lake are in the 0's.
