Sure, Grass Lake is in the neighborhood, and going for a hike on the Bear River Smiths Fork Trail is always a great adventure. It is very dry here at Bear Lake frequently; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain; January meanwhile is the driest month. Any time is a glorious time at Bear Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. Bear Lake       is not far at all from Evanston, and close by you locate the High Line Trail which is a good hiking trail. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Sawmill Lake; paddling on Blacks Fork - East Fork is so much fun.
