Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Auger Hole Lake, and Wonderland Inn is a great location to get some rest. Barney Lake is a location that is quite dried up usually; throughout August this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. While staying at Barney Lake you could always look at Jacobs Valley. Jacobs Valley Dam is lovely and it's       close to Barney Lake, and do take a hike on the Pollywog Lake Trail. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Barney Lake; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Throughout the winter the highs are generally in the 30's, and overnight lows throughout the wintertime for Barney Lake tend to be in the 0's. Going for a hike along the Boulder Mail Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and you can stay the night at Triple S RV Park.                  And if that's not sufficient, there's loads more to do in the neighborhood of Barney Lake. Barney Lake is a good site to visit for more than one day, Blue Spruce Campground is a good site to camp nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Torrey-Days Inn Capitol Reef N.P..
