If you need a place to stay Lodge at Stillwater is a nice choice, and there's good hiking along the Lofty Lake Trail. Through the long summer days at Abes Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. This lake is so wonderful. There are fine locations to explore along the Notch Mountain Trail, and one of the overriding features of the surroundings of Abes Lake is Mount Watson.
