This lake is so wonderful. If time allows, Big Thicket National Preserve is a national park worth visiting, and you can go for a hike on the Roy E Larsen Sandyland Sanctuary Trail. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have fun. Good hiking is available along the Big Thicket - Kirby Nature Trail, and dry warm       beds await you at La Quinta Inn & Suites Lumberton. Yellow Lake is not the only location nearby, Round Lake is a nearby lake; camping is available at Red Cloud Recreational Vehicle Park. This lake is so wonderful. It's a great idea to check out Ellis Branch, it's in the vicinity of Yellow Lake, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Kountze Big Thicket Natl Pres Area is a great choice. At Yellow Lake during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 60's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Yellow Lake.
