If you came for an overnight stay Big Creek RV Park is a splendid location to camp, and it's a delightful idea to pop by Menard Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Brushy Lake is near Woods Lake, and if you need a place to stay Super 8 Livingston is a tremendous choice. Duke Lake Dam is an exciting thing to check out,  
   and why not camp at Lake Livingston State Park if you're here at Woods Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. A short spree to Williams Spring is always worthwhile, and the Big Thicket - Beaver Slide Trail is a brilliant hiking trail close by. All through the summertime months, highs usually are in the 90's at Woods Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 70's. Highs throughout the wintertime are commonly in the 50's, and winter
 
               nights come with lows in the 30's to Woods Lake.

On a splendid day at Woods Lake you can take a hike along the Big Thicket - Big Sandy Trail; naturally, this is a pleasant region for people who like lakes, Brushy Lake is a lake in the vicinity. I remember living about 3 or 4 dirt roads past the lake coming from the main entrance (somewhere between Elsie's Alley and Rene Ln) when I was a kid (1978-1979), and the place looked nasty back then, as I believe it was a slow development.  Mostly cheap mobile homes, dirt roads and dangerous living, I could't go outside much with all of the snakes that were running loose within easy sight on a DAILY basis.  I wouldn't mids driving through to see what has since become of it, but my memory is remembers this place vividly, and not in a good way....
