     At Williams Lake Dam close to Williams Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see, and camping is available at Serenity RV Park and Campgrounds. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. The smiling folks of Palestine like to hang out close by; dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Hudson Lake, and if you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn Express PALESTINE  
   is a pleasant choice.
High temperatures at Williams Lake throughout the summertime months are in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 50's, and nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for Williams Lake tend to be in the 30's. Why not camp at HWY 155 RV Park if you're here at Williams Lake, and going for a hike on the Nature Trail is always a great adventure. Get covered with water
 
               paddling on Neches River, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Snake Creek.
This is no spot for people who don’t like to have fun. Lakes? Sure, Crystal Lake is in close proximity; you can go for a hike on the Mount Hope Tract Trail. Williams Lake gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is July.

...e off to your kayak and let it float under a downed tree, you crawl over the tree and then get back in. I'm sure the when and where the trees are down changes quite often.... And it looks like someone (probably the river authority) takes a saw down and cuts some of this out from time to time.

The put in location is correct. However, the take out is not. You need to float further down to the 175 bridge (less than 1/4th mile) and get out there.

I would suggest that experienced paddlers attempt this only when the water is high from heavy rains or when the dam is letting a lot of water out. There's vegetative litter stuck in the trees 10 foot above the water line.... So at some points of the year... This thing moves... And could represent dangers with the amount of timber.

You might consider taking a machete on this trip just in case. Don't forget the fishing pole, or if you are an archer, a bow for the huge gar and buffalo. There's plenty of fishin to do .

This trip with little effort takes approx 3 hours. If you live nearby, you need to make this float. Glad...
