Camp Huaco Springs
 | This summary needs to be rewritten badly. Whoever typed this up needs to go back to grammar school and learn about run-on sentences and repeating your unneccessary repetition. And, where is all the information about the camp itself? How much does it cost, are there bathrooms nearby, how far away from the river is the campground? You know, pertinent information would be much appreciated.... |
Guadalupe River
 | This is a fun river to kayak. Although some parts are very slow open water, there are usually plenty of tubers to keep it interesting. Me and mine really love this ride. The best put in is somewhere around the first crossing right above huaco springs rapids. From there, your next take out is Gruene. We get out at Gruene but the Parks and Wildlife website list the next public take out a little further downstream but remember when you enter New Braunfels you have to follow their laws such as the limit on the size of the ice chest you can have with you. There are four solid rapids on this run. You need to be sure the water is flowing. During the summer, this is sometimes the only river flowing to assure the survival of the rainbow trout.... |

Rocky River Ranch
 | 19 miles away Fires OK, Store, Nearby Grocery, Pool...TENT:We have bunkhouse cabins and we rent to groups of 30 or more.......ps. The ranch's brand, the Triple-R, stands for respect: respect for self, respect for others, and respect for nature. Through our leadership program, RRR is where strong girls become strong women. A Rocky River girl is given opportunities on every level for success. This is a creative, challenging and nurturing place, where each child is encouraged and celebrated.
It's more than just cabins, horses and cedar trees. Rocky River is known for its spirit. Campers today sing the same songs, chant the same cheers, tell the same campfire stories and laugh at the same punch lines as campers did 50 years ago. Traditions like the half- a-century long rivalry between our camp teams (Cowpokes and Wranglers), watching a movie under the stars at the open-air Corral Theatre, the nutty Miss RRR Contest — all of these create an experience your daughter will always treasure.
Tradition gives kids a sense of belonging to a family, bound together by something very strong and magical. That bond — together with friendships and warm memories — is what our girls take home from camp and keep wi... |
