Sure, North Lake is nearby, and pleasant hiking is available along the Bentsen - Rio Grande Valley State Park Trail. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a good time here at West Lake. There's so much to do here at West Lake that you need to camp here for a while, A-1 Adult Trailer and RV Park is a pleasant place for that, and you'll probably meet some folks from McAllen-Edinburg-Pharr here. It is very waterless here at West Lake generally; through the       month of September you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is March. Go for a hike on the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge Trail. At West Lake during the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's. Summer night lows drop down to the 70's. During the winter highs are in the 60's, and overnight lows at West Lake all through the wintertime regularly drop into the 40's. Stay the night at Alamo Rose Mobile Home and RV Park,                  and La Copa Alamo is a good place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent nearby hotel is Best Western Arena Inn & Suites, and there are good places to explore along the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge Trail.
