Lots of folks from Austin-Round Rock come to Walter E. Long Lake, and Colorado River is a pleasant whitewater spot close by. Through the summertime months at Walter E. Long Lake temperatures are mostly in the 90's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's while Walter E. Long Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Stay       the night at Tejas Mobile Plaza, and do take a hike on the Roy Guerrero Colorado River Park Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Now, you may believe that's lots but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Walter E. Long Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Boggy Creek Greenbelt Trail, and a wonderful spot for whitewater paddling is Colorado River. Walter E. Long Lake is a good place of normal rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of                  the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you need a spot to stay Quality Inn & Suites is a wonderful choice, also Decker Creek Dam is worth stopping at since you're here. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - 183 Airport is a brilliant site to spend a night or two, and the Hornsby Bend Trail offers hiking at its best.
