     Lakes are good; Stern Lake is a lake that's in close proximity to Valley Lake; lots of people from Durant come here. High temperatures at Valley Lake during the summer are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 70's. All through the wintertime highs are generally in the 50's, and overnight lows during the winter for Valley Lake tend to be in the 20's. Valley Lake Dam is worth checking out since you're here; if you came to camp Lake Bonham Concession  
   is a splendid spot to do that. There's so much to do here at Valley Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bonham State Park is a great place for that, and there's some flowing water close by, Pattillo Branch is a stream you can explore during your stay.

               Lake is a good place of typical rain; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily May, that's the one that rains the most; January on the other hand is the driest.
Why not take a refreshing hike along the Herman Baker Park Trail, and as expected, this is a great area for people who like lakes, Klose Lake is a lake in close proximity. So much cool stuff to do here at Valley Lake, too splendid to be true. A brilliant close by hotel is Best Western Texoma Hotel & Suites; Valley Lake is right by the Eisenhower State Park Trail.

You are right.  Alot of my best childhood memories are of that place.  I am stationed in Iraq right now and cant wait to get home and just take a nice walk around the lake...Same here.  I am 29 stationed in Iraq, I don't know how many times I have fished hiked and slid down the dam.  I have a picture hanging up here of my grandfather standing by the lake holding a small mouth bass.  A lot of my best memories growing up took place at that small oasis....Same as Armando...My mom used to take us and have picnics and we would get boxes and just slide down the hills.  It's so pretty there.  Just dont go at night......
