     There's great hiking along the Mount Hope Tract Trail, and a perfect site for whitewater paddling is Neches River. The Nature Trail offers hiking at its best, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Executive Inn is a delightful place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Castle on the Lake Inn and RV Resort is a wonderful local campground, and a splendid close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express JACKSONVILLE. During the warmest time of the year  
   here at Tulls Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 90's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 70's. All through the winter highs are in the 50's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Tulls Lake plunge into the 30's.
You'll meet a lot of folks from Jacksonville here, obviously you could also take a look at Tucker Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Now, you may think that's heaps but there's even more amusing
 
               stuff to do here at Tulls Lake. Tulls Lake is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Big Steve's RV Park is a brilliant place to camp nearby, and perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Lake Acker is just a very short distance away.
Tulls Lake gets a common amount of annual rainfall; throughout May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.

...in the water. One area in particular you will need to tie some line off to your kayak and let it float under a downed tree, you crawl over the tree and then get back in. I'm sure the when and where the trees are down changes quite often.... And it looks like someone (probably the river authority) takes a saw down and cuts some of this out from time to time.

The put in location is correct. However, the take out is not. You need to float further down to the 175 bridge (less than 1/4th mile) and get out there.

I would suggest that experienced paddlers attempt this only when the water is high from heavy rains or when the dam is letting a lot of water out. There's vegetative litter stuck in the trees 10 foot above the water line.... So at some points of the year... This thing moves... And could represent dangers with the amount of timber.

You might consider taking a machete on this trip just in case. Don't forget the fishing pole, or if you are an archer, a bow for the huge gar and buffalo. There's plenty of fishin to do .
