Going for a hike on the Santa Elena Canyon Trail is always a good adventure; get covered with water paddling on Rio Grande. Summertime highs at Tinaja Rana usually tend to be in the 100's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the       70's. All through the winter highs are mostly in the 60's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Tinaja Rana temperatures plunge to the 30's. You get a brilliant sight of Mesa de Anguila from Tinaja Rana, and if you're looking for a good journey, Big Bend National Park is pretty near. There are great spots to explore along the Tuff Canyon Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Terlingua Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Tinaja Rana without                  first going for a hike along the Chimneys Trail. There's so much to do here at Tinaja Rana that you need to camp here for a while, Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort and Spa is a tremendous spot for that. So many amusing things to do here at Tinaja Rana, too good to be true.
