Why not take a refreshing hike along the Chimneys Trail, and there's whitewater       on Rio Grande for all you thrill seekers. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Tinaja Rana; Santa Elena Canyon Trail is a brilliant local trail. At Tinaja Rana all through the months of summer highs are in the 100's with night lows in the 70's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 60's while Tinaja Rana overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's. Tinaja Rana is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Maverick Ranch                  RV Park at Lajitas Resort and Spa is a splendid place to camp nearby, and you can run the rapids of Terlingua Creek. Tinaja Rana is pretty dried out typically; September is the month that gets the most rain, and March is when it's the driest.
