Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 70's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 60's with temperatures at Tinaja Lujan dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. If you like the outdoors, you'll go for Tinaja Lujan. A tour to Big Bend National Park is recommended. Tinaja Lujan is a good location to visit for more       than one day, Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort and Spa is a good location to camp nearby; if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Santa Elena Canyon Trail. Stay the night at B J Recreational Vehicle Park; the top of Mesa de Anguila is easily made out from Tinaja Lujan. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Grande, and there is a perfect hiking                  trail close by called the Chimneys Trail. Whitewater paddling is perfect on Terlingua Creek, and the Tuff Canyon Trail is a magnificent hiking trail nearby.
