Tinaja Blanca is right by the Santa Elena Canyon Trail, and the summit of Mesa de Anguila can be observed from Tinaja Blanca. Why not camp at B J Recreational Vehicle Park while you're here at Tinaja Blanca; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Terlingua Creek. Tinaja Blanca is typically a quite dried up place; most of the rain falls throughout September,       and March is the month with the least moisture. Summer at Tinaja Blanca arrives with high temperatures in the 100's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 70's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 60's while the cold winter nights at Tinaja Blanca are in the 30's. That right there is a heap already, but it carries on; Tinaja Blanca has it all. Take a hike on the Tuff Canyon Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A fine location to camp here at Tinaja Blanca                  is Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort and Spa, and if you come at the right time of year, Rio Grande offers some brilliant whitewater.
