Camping at El-Paso West RV Park is always a magnificent experience, and hiking along the McKelligon Canyon Bike Trail is magnificent fun. Lakes are such serene places, why not go to American Reservoir close to Thorn Reservoir; Ascarate Municipal Golf Course is a golf course nearby.       This lake is so wonderful. At Thorn Reservoir you don’t see much rainfall; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here; April is when it's the driest. During the summer, highs regularly are in the 90's at Thorn Reservoir. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 50's with temperatures at Thorn Reservoir dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. But                  wait, there's more to do next to Thorn Reservoir. There are other spots here than Thorn Reservoir, for example Portland Cement Reservoir; there are plenty of people from El Paso here. This lake is so wonderful. Thorn Reservoir is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Gaslight Square Mobile Home is a pleasant local campground; the Resler Drive Walk and Bike Trail offers hiking at its best.
