This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Medina River, and do visit Johnson Lake, it's a pretty lake. For the duration of the summertime at Thompson Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 90's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Thompson       Lake sink into the 20's. Camping at Las Aves Recreational Vehicle Resort is always a good experience, and dry warm beds await you at Inn of the Hills Resort and Conference Center. While you're here at Thompson Lake you can take a hike along the Lost Maples State Natural Area Trails, and this is a popular location for people from Kerrville. Horse Creek is a good local stream, and there's whitewater on Sabinal for all you adrenaline rush seekers. So much                  enjoyable stuff to do here at Thompson Lake, too pleasant to be true. There is a perfect hiking trail near Thompson Lake called the Hill Country State Natural Area Trail; if you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn Kerrville is a tremendous choice. Thompson Lake gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is December. This lake is so wonderful. Brewington Creek Ranch Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit; Thompson Lake Dam is not far at all from Thompson Lake.
