     Texas has many beautiful lakes and Thompson Lake is one of them. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Kerrville is a nice spot to spend a night or two, and Sabinal is a brilliant whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. You can take a little visit to Thompson Lake Dam if you're here at Thompson Lake, and you're sure to stumble upon some fine folks from Kerrville here. Inn of the Hills Resort and Conference Center is a glorious location to get some  
   rest, and why not camp at Koyote Ranch if you're here at Thompson Lake.
Summer at Thompson Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's, and the night is rather chillier of course, commonly in the 60's. Highs all through the wintertime are generally in the 50's, and nighttime lows at Thompson Lake throughout the winter usually sink into the 20's. Now, you may feel that's heaps but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Thompson Lake. Near Thompson
 
               Lake you discover the Lost Maples State Natural Area Trails which is a magnificent hiking trail, and you can run the rapids of Medina River. Going for a hike on the Kerr Wildlife Management Area Trail is always a great adventure; camping is available at Las Aves Recreational Vehicle Resort.
This lake is so wonderful. There are splendid places to discover along the Hill Country State Natural Area Trail; of course Horse Creek flows through this vicinity. The annual rainfall here at Thompson Lake is about average; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while December is usually the driest month.
