A glorious close by hotel is La Quinta Inn and Suites Woodway, and a wonderful place to camp here at Taylor Lake is Brazos River RV Park. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do in close proximity to Taylor Lake. There is a splendid hiking trail next to Taylor Lake called the Cameron Park Hike and Bike Trail, and Taylor Lake Dam is a wonderful place. If you're dropping by Taylor Lake from       Waco, you won't be the only one, and Hog Creek has a delightful whitewater paddling spot close by. Summertime highs at Taylor Lake typically tend to be in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 70's. For the period of the winter the highs are typically in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Taylor Lake sink into the 30's. In case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always                  go whitewater paddling on Childress Creek, and if you need a spot to stay Best Western Velkommen is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful. Cottonwood Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting, and Taylor Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Towkaw Falls RV Park is a nice local campground. An average amount of precipitation falls at Taylor Lake; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
