In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Childress Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Visit Cottonwood Creek while you're here at Taylor Lake; after a long day       outdoors La Quinta Inn and Suites Woodway is a brilliant site to spend a night or two. Summertime highs at Taylor Lake commonly tend to be in the 90's, and all through the night it cools down to the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Taylor Lake. Best Western Velkommen is a good location to get some rest, and camping at Brazos River RV Park is always a great experience. Taylor Lake is not far at all from Waco,                  and Markum Lake Number 1 is a nearby lake that you could stop by. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do in close proximity to Taylor Lake. Taylor Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Towkaw Falls RV Park is a glorious local campground; going for a hike on the Lake Whitney State Park Hiking Trail is always a great adventure. While you're here at Taylor Lake, you could also pop by striking Markum Lake Number 2; you can go for a hike on the Cameron Park Hike and Bike Trail.
