Tatum Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Tatum Lake. Tatum Lake Dam is a place that is in the vicinity of Tatum Lake, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Johnson City Inn is a nice place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Marriott Horseshoe Bay Resort is a splendid choice. Tatum Lake is wonderful

| | enough to spend more than a day at, River Oaks Riverfront RV Resort is a wonderful local campground, and why not a little side tour to Blasingame Creek. Tatum Lake is a good spot of normal rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and December is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. enough of Tatum Lake, Blanco City Lake Number 1 is close by. There's whitewater on Pedernales River for all you adrenaline junkies. There's so much to do here at Tatum Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Blanco State Park
is a nice location for that. Good hiking is available along the Blanco State Park Trail; you can run the rapids of Little Blanco River. You could also have a look at Wayne Smith Lake since you're here at Tatum Lake; it's nearby;
why not take a refreshing hike along the Pedernales Falls State Park Equestrian Trails. Through the months of summer, highs usually are in the 90's at Tatum Lake. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's.
High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Tatum Lake are in the 30's.

Blanco River
 | 16 miles away Just got back from a three day trip down this river. It was very scenic and beautiful. All of my crew were quite beat up after this trip though. At flows around 400 cfs there are some serious rapids on this section. There were many damns and there was also a fence constructed across the river just upstream from the Narrows. Lots of debris from the previous fence was found everywhere downstream along the river, so be careful not to get caught in those. The Narrows was downright freaky, and be prepared to carry boats and gear a long distance to get around this hazard. All in all it was a great trip.... |
