Sunrise Reservoir is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Mission Trail Village is a fine local campground, and after a long day outdoors SUPER 8 MOTEL - EL PASO is a delightful place to spend a night or two. Gold Hill is simple to spot from Sunrise Reservoir, and a perfect nearby hotel is Cliff Inn Hotel & Conference Center. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from Sunrise Reservoir to see       the water at Mountain Park Dam, and nearby you find the McKelligon Canyon Bike Trail which is a great hiking trail. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Going for a hike on the Ron Coleman Hiking Trail is always a great adventure, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Ascarate Municipal Golf Course is close at hand. At Sunrise Reservoir you always meet someone from El Paso. There's so much to do here at Sunrise Reservoir                  that you need to camp here for a while, Roadrunner Travel Trailer Park is a great place for that. There are delightful places to look at along the Wilderness Park Museum Trail. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Sunrise Reservoir with overnight lows in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 50's, and overnight lows at Sunrise Reservoir all through the winter mostly sink into the 20's.
