Hiking along the Big Thicket - Big Sandy Trail is nice fun, and a glorious place to camp here at Stub Lake is Lake Livingston State Park. All through the summer months at Stub Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 70's. Highs all through the winter are typically in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Stub Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Chain-o-lakes Resort is always

here, you could also pop by beautiful Fields Lake. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Livingston is a wonderful choice, and naturally Fields Bayou is a pretty stream that is worth going to.
After a long day outdoors Hampton Inn Livingston is a nice place to spend a night or two; you'll come across a pretty lake called White Roselake.

Lake Run-A-Muck

I remember living about 3 or 4 dirt roads past the lake coming from the main entrance (somewhere between Elsie's Alley and Rene Ln) when I was a kid (1978-1979), and the place looked nasty back then, as I believe it was a slow development.  Mostly cheap mobile homes, dirt roads and dangerous living, I could't go outside much with all of the snakes that were running loose within easy sight on a DAILY basis.  I wouldn't mids driving through to see what has since become of it, but my memory is remembers this place vividly, and not in a good way....
