If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater       paddling on Neches River, and if you need a location to stay Best Western Executive Inn is a good choice. You just should like Smith Lake. There's so much to do here at Smith Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Shady Pines RV Park and Campground is a magnificent place for that, and Smith Lake is not the only spot nearby, Hollywood Lake is a nearby lake. From a rain point of view Smith Lake is a quite normal place; May is the month that gets the most                  rain, and August is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Smith Lake you can take a hike along the Jim Hogg State Historical Park Trail; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Nature Trail. The warmest time of the year at Smith Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 70's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's while Smith Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's.
