This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to encounter some smiling folks from Texarkana here; there is a glorious hiking trail close by called the Atlanta State Park Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Skelton Lake a wet place; April is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year       is August. Why not camp at Island View Landing since you're here at Skelton Lake, and going for a hike on the Daingerfield State Park Trail is always a delightful adventure. So many exciting things in the vicinity of Skelton Lake, clearly unbelievable. Skelton Lake is not the only spot close by, Foster Lake is a close by lake; obviously Buck Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth visiting. Throughout the days of summer highs here at Skelton Lake                  reach the 90's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the wintertime the highs are typically in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Skelton Lake.
