Lake Creek is a striking stream that is worth going to; a lake close by is Stagners Lake. Man, is there a heap of exciting stuff to do near Shipp Lake. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Bastrop is a good location to spend a night or two, and Shipp Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Rocky Hill Ranch is a great local campground. Throughout the summer highs here at Shipp Lake reach the 90's with night       lows in the 70's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Shipp Lake are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. There is a delightful hiking trail in close proximity to Shipp Lake called the Lost Pines Trail, and a perfect place to camp here at Shipp Lake is Buescher State Park.
