If you need a spot to stay Super 8 Port Arthur/Nederland Area is a pleasant choice. That right there is heaps already, but it continues; Shell Lake has it all. A delightful location to camp here at Shell Lake is Sea Rim State Park, and if you've had enough of Shell Lake, Barnett Lake is close by. The high level of precipitation makes       Shell Lake a rather wet location; September is the month that gets the most rain while March is the month with the least amount of precipitation. After a long day outdoors Days Inn and Suites Port Arthur is a nice place to spend a night or two, and Shell Lake is not the only location close by, Willow Lake is a close by lake. During the warm days of summer, highs usually are in the 90's at Shell Lake. Summer night lows fall down to the 70's. The winter brings                  highs down to the 60's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Shell Lake drop into the 40's. If you want to hit the beach, MacFadden Beach is nearby; you can have a glorious hiking adventure along the Tyrell Park Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
