You'll need more than a day to look at everything Shaw Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sally's flea Market/RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Budget Inn is a wonderful choice, and going for a hike on the Martin Creek Lake State Park Trail is always a great adventure. A fine close by hotel is Woodlawn Hills Motel. There's so much to do here at Shaw Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Whispering       Pines RV Park is a pleasant site for that. Shaw Lake is near Shaw Lake Dam which is a delightful place definitely worth visiting, and the great folks of Longview like to hang out close by. All the water falling down from the sky makes Shaw Lake a wet place; May is the wettest month with most rain, and August on the other hand is the driest. During the summer months, highs regularly are in the 90's at Shaw Lake.
