The Martin Creek Lake State Park Trail is a magnificent hiking trail near Shaw Lake, and Shaw Lake is a glorious location to visit for more than one day, D&D RV Park is a glorious location to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Shaw Lake is a place with many visitors from Longview; the scenery at Shaw Lake Dam is wonderful. You think       that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. If you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites HENDERSON-TRAFFIC STAR is a good choice; unsurprisingly Flanigan Branch flows through this area. The high level of rain makes Shaw Lake a relatively wet spot; May is the wettest month with most rain, and August is when it's the driest. All through the summertime at Shaw Lake highs are usually in the 90's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 70's. The                  winter comes with highs in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Shaw Lake.
