If you like lakes and you're in this part of Texas you can check out Sandy Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Sandy Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Green Caye RV Park is a great local campground. Sandy Lake is a wet spot that gets a lot of rainfall; June is the wettest month with most rain, and April meanwhile is the driest month. Big Thicket National Preserve is one of the destinations close to Sandy Lake that are great to go to, and Bunns Bluff is something you shouldn't miss if you're here. Trail is always a tremendous adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Sandy Lake there are plenty of folks from Beaumont-Port Arthur; dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Beaumont.
If you get bored of Sandy Lake, you could
also check out nearby Scatterman Lake; there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the Tyrell Park Trail. Summertime highs at Sandy Lake frequently tend to be in the 90's with night lows in the 60's. High temperatures through
the winter are normally in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Sandy Lake temperatures sink to the 30's. Pine Island Bayou is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting, and Banks Bayou is an out of the ordinary swamp in the neighborhood of Sandy Lake.
